CHeSS Architecture & Development, working from their offices in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire was formed in 2002 by Roy Lopez and Mark McFall, having worked together previously for eight years as Architect Director and Senior Architectural Technologist.

With a vast experience of working within the following sectors; private and affordable residential housing (new build, refurbishment, extension, listed buildings); commercial (offices, light industrial); schools (new build, extension, refurbishment); retail and leisure including multiplex cinema and pubs! The directors at CHeSS work with a dedicated team of ‘partners’ allowing CHeSS to call on various areas of expertise, undertaking work through all stages of the construction process; feasibility studies; planning; working drawings; on site project management through to completion and handover to their clients. Our partnering arrangement allows CHeSS to offer an economic but comprehensive service to their clients, the work being undertaken by both modern and traditional drafting methods.

CHeSS are able to offer their clients the benefit of their partnering arrangement with Watford Borough Council in respect of Building Regulations plan checking on all projects undertaken, regardless of site location.

CHeSS are employed on projects with traditional forms of contract or design and build contracts with values up to £5 million – however no project is ever considered too small, CHeSS are at ease working on small scale residential domestic extensions, conversions, all of which are given the same attention to detail as the larger projects!
